A course of genuine heritage

Established in 1887, Cleveland Golf Club is proud to be recognised as the oldest course in the county of Yorkshire and the region’s only true links course. Situated on England’s North East coast, we are a genuine test of links golf, offering an authentic coastal golfing experience shaped by nature and tradition.

Over the years, we have proudly hosted numerous high-profile events, welcoming competitive golf at the highest level while remaining a true playable test for members and visitors alike. Play a course where history, design, and natural links terrain come together.

The course has evolved over time with input from some of golf’s most respected architects, including Old Tom Morris and Harry S Colt. More recently, in 2000, Donald Steel added three new holes, further enhancing both the challenge and character of the layout. Cleveland is proud to be ranked 8th best golf course in Yorkshire by Top 100 Courses.
